Wedding season it is, and hence wanted to revamp my saree collection and what best excuse can you get, than your schoolmate's wedding. Here i am with my darling daughter at the reception.
I had designed a few sarees out of which 3 are complete.
Copper Sulphate Georgette saree
Simple motif when put continuously gives a grand appeal. Didn't like it as such, but once worn, it looked great, i am happy i visualised the motif effectively.
Recon - Silk Saree born again
This saree has lot of sentiments attached to it, being the one which was used as kind of shawl while my 'Thali' (Mangalsutra) was tied at my wedding. Wanted to jazz it up a bit and hence gave pasiley motif to be added and the border pepped up by thread, zardosi and stone work. Like the end result, especially the blouse. Moreso when i can use the same blouse for 2 sarees (yes it matches with the copper sulphate georgette saree as well)
Black Georgette Saree
Nice design, but defective output, as in finish was not good and professional they added 2 many sequins (Zardosi unit ) and less thread work which made it look tacky, hence i was forced to reject this. Shall redo something else on another new black saree. this time planning to buy shimmer georgette fabric to give it rich appeal.
Looks lovely.... I always wanted to design my own saris too!
