Day 9, the last day of navarathri with 2moro being the grand finale with Vijayadasami.
Today was the day we had reserved to go out to all the friends' & relatives' golu as we were busy for the past 8 days being the hosts ourselves.... it was time we turned out to be guests...
i must say we had a gala time....
Regarding dress i couldn't finish a new dress today, it was all cut up but i had guests pouring in and in the evening i myself had to be guest visiting lot of 'Golus' hence didn't find time at all to stitch... i guess its ok, the spirit of Navarathri Collection still stays in tact and will finish it by next week and add to 2010 collection, better late than never...so today being the last day she had to repeat her Navarathri Collection dress, being the Pattu Paavadai which she wore for the first day as well .... she looked as beautiful as ever....
3 of us all decked up (DD, MIL & myself ) + hubby dearest [free chauffer :) ] went first to my DD's friends place and then from their to our relatives place.... here are the pics...(Pls note the pics are of much less than usual quality as they were from hubby's iphone instead of my beloved digicam)
In our relatives' golu i found this 'Marapaachi' Doll, made out of special wood and is a tradition in our family to gift it to daughter during wedding, and this doll was gifted to my aunt's MIL by her Grandmother, so it has seen 4 generations and is more than 100 years old...so lets begin the snap with them....
Today being 'Ayudha Pooja' , we did puja to all our appliances and utensils right from pen to knife, laptop to writing bench, here is a snap of 'Kumkum' Embellished Beloved machine of mine.....
Saree i had custom made for self with brocade border ... till now didn't finish the blouse for this using the matchy brocade material, worn it with other 'savior' blouse of mine which suits to most sarees!!! (Sigh when will i finish my long list of to-do-for self.....)

I discovered the following shot while uploading pics from hubby's mobile, it was taken on Day 3.
Before i say good night, this snap sums up the mood of the all the festivities out here, innocent smile from deep within....says it all.... children are precious aren't they, they teach you to live.....god bless...

Hello Adithi's amma,
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog. I enjoy your posts and your sewing is inspiring me to do some experiments. :) I am a beginner with no knowledge of cutting. I can stitch and I am interested to do more. Can you please suggest me a good sewing machine for a beginner? It would be great help. Thanks much.
